Zendaya and Jacob Batalon both have perfect chemistry with Holland and are also incredible in their own ways. In Spider-Man 2 , Doctor Octopus' tentacles are stated to be immune to heat and magnetism. They do not have an immunity to electricity and, in fact, the two times that Doctor Octopus is knocked out is because his tentacles got hit with electricity. So in in this film, he realistically could not hold Electro to administer the cure without Electro shocking him and knocking him out.
