Read on for what we know about Spider-Man 4 and and how Holland’s journey as the friendly neighborhood superhero could continue in the MCU. The trailer seems to confirm a number of key details about the film, including the fact the loss of Peter's secret identity is going to play a crucial role in the plot. So those rumors that it would be glossed over right away, with a Skrull impersonating Peter Parker, aren't going to happen.
Starz holds the exclusive pay television rights to Sony Pictures' theatrical releases through 2021, following theatrical and home media releases. While not explicitly confirmed, we have also seen teases that Thomas Haden Church’s Sandman and Rhys Ifans’ Lizard will return in No Way Home. With the Multiverse opening up, villains from alternate universes are arriving in the MCU. While there very well be some surprises in store for fans, it has been confirmed that Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, Benedict Wong’s Wong, and Jon Favreau’s Happy Hogan will be joining Tom Holland on this new adventure.

Sony and Disney announced a new agreement at the end of September which would allow Marvel Studios and Feige to produce another MCU Spider-Man film for Sony with Amy Pascal, scheduled for July 16, 2021. Disney was reportedly co-financing 25% of the film in exchange for 25% of its profits, while retaining the character's merchandising rights. Feige said he was "thrilled" that the character would remain in the MCU and said "all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working" on the franchise.
After only three weeks in theaters,No Way Home swung its way into the list of the top 10 highest-earning movies at the domestic box office with a massive $609 million haul. The only MCU movie to have earned more is 2012'sThe Avengers, which is currently eighth with $623 million. In September 2021, Garfield again denied he was in the film, saying, "No matter what I say... it's either going to be really disappointing for people or it's going to be really exciting". Garfield later described his denials as "rather stressful but also weirdly enjoyable". Though Sony handles the marketing for the film, their marketing team is in coordination with Disney's to ensure each knows when the other is releasing MCU-related content so it is a "win-win for everybody". On August 22, an apparent leak of the first trailer was shared on social media, which The Hollywood Reporter deemed "legitimate" after Sony worked to have various copies of the trailer taken down. Adam Chitwood at Collider noted the built up online "fervor" surrounding the trailer and felt that it would not be able to "live up to the hype fans have built up in their minds".
Some reviews appear to have revealed if they're part of the film's cast as well, so be very careful if you go searching for reviews to read. Like the previous Spider-Man movies starring Tom Holland, despite being part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they won’t be available to watch on Disney+. That’s because Sony retained the distribution rights to the franchise and they currently have a deal with Starz who have the first-pay-window rights to stream the movie for the first 18 months after release. Peter-Three helps Peter-One inject the Goblin with his cure, restoring Osborn's sanity. Peter-One realizes that the only way to protect the multiverse is to erase Peter Parker from everyone's memory and requests Strange to do so while promising MJ and Ned that he will find them again. The spell is cast, and everyone returns to their respective universes—including Eddie Brock, who unknowingly leaves behind a piece of the Venom symbiote. Two weeks later, Parker visits MJ and Ned to reintroduce himself, but he decides against it. While mourning at May's grave, he has a conversation with Hogan and is inspired to carry on, making a new suit and resuming his vigilantism. The movie went on to gross more than $240 million in its opening day and leave fans with a cliffhanger as to what’s next for Holland’s version of Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Filming ran for seven-to-eight weeks using the working titles Serenity Now and The November Project, before a break during the 2020 Christmas season. An alternate version of the film (titled 'The More Fun Stuff Version') was announced by Sony Pictures in June 2022 and was later released in September 2nd of that year. This alternative version had some additional, extended scenes and a new post-credits scene which weren't seen in the theatrical version of the film, taking the total runtime to 157 minutes. In November 2020, Homecoming and Far From Home composer Michael Giacchino was confirmed to be returning for No Way Home.

That leads to previous iterations of Spider-Man villains appearing in the MCU and seemingly begin wreaking havoc. So it looks like it'll be up to Spider-Man (or could that be Spider-Men?) to save the day again.
McKenna and Sommers began working on the script in earnest by December 2019. That idea introduced Dr. Stephen Strange to the story, and the duo began exploring the idea of the multiverse and potentially revisiting characters from past Spider-Man films. Initially they thought this would just be a tease for fans but they ultimately decided to fully integrate the past characters into the plot. Strange casts a spell that would make everyone forget Parker is Spider-Man, but it is corrupted when Parker repeatedly requests alterations to let his loved ones retain their memories, ultimately causing Strange to contain the spell to stop it. Peter, who will probably feel that their plight mirrors his own – he'll be given a second chance when he's likely found innocent of supposedly murdering Mysterio – tries to steal a magical box from Strange in the second trailer. We suspect that this holds the key to keeping the villains locked up , and that Peter's stealing of the item will allow them to escape and wreak havoc across the MCU's version of New York. Now that two trailers are out, we know that the controversial One More Day comic storyline involving Peter's identity and magic may be loosely adapted here. Rather than Mephisto, though, it seems Doctor Strange will be the one to try and alter the timeline. After Peter revealed his identity in the Civil War comic series, his Aunt May was shot as a by-product of that decision.
